Marissa Beatty

Marissa Beatty is an electrochemist turned entrepreneur, who is passionate about transitioning the chemicals industry to be more efficient, sustainable, and accessible. 

Marissa has received numerous awards and accolades during her scientific career, where completed her Ph.D. in the chemical engineering department of Columbia University and at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs as a Department of Energy Fellow. 

Her 10-year research career has focused on investigating the underlying mechanisms that degrade clean chemical synthesis processes, in an effort to build better green technologies for industry. She is now applying these insights to develop a cutting-edge electrolysis system that reduces the cost of carbon dioxide utilization for the production of carbon-neutral chemicals.

Marissa also serves as an advisor and consultant to various climate tech startups, where she helps improve the longevity of other electrochemical devices for green hydrogen production,  renewable energy storage, and energy generation.
